Prerequisites
The Watchmaker I+II+III program is the most proficient, for candidates seeking a career-path in traditional fine watchmaking craftmanship. For the enrolment there are no mandatory candidate requirements, however it is recommended to have good technical comprehension, a strong interest in mechanics and a keen eye for details.
- Please note that this program is very intensive and requires strong motivation.
- Minimum age: candidates submitting their application must be at least 18 years old and must be of legal age* in their country / state of origin **
- * of legal age: i.e must have reached the age at which, according to the laws of their country, they have full adult legal rights and responsibilities.
- ** country / state of origin mentioned in their passport.
- Language requirements: fluent English, both spoken and written. It is not necessary to provide a certificate but the candidate’s language proficiency level should correspond to the following minimum requirement:
- IELTS: International English Language Testing System: 5.0 – 6.0
- CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: B2
Candidates from Hong Kong may be eligible for the Albert Hausammann Hong Kong Trust scholarship. For further information, please visit: www.wostep.ch/albert-hausammann.
Space is limited. Short-listed candidates will be requested to take a 2-day test at WOSTEP to evaluate their abilities and manual dexterity, as part of the final selection process.
Program
The program is based on extensive practical work at the bench, which will enable students to master all types of modern Swiss mechanical and electronic watches.
Watchmaking theory will be taught as the program unfolds.

Price
CHF 34'600.- (without accommodation) The fee includes the following:
- Tutition, support for administrative procdures on arrival and administrative expenses
- Toolkit and horlogery theory books
- Special courses on specific products, visits to companies and manufactures
- Ressources (infrastructure, tools, machines, movements, spare parts and components)
Participant
The WOSTEP certificate will be awarded to those participants who have completed the required exercises during the program and passed each examination.

Career opportunities
With the Watchmaker I+II+III, graduate candidates have opportunities to work in customer services, brand-service-centres, independent repair shops, vintage watch services, watch development and manufacturing. This program incorporates the full competences of the Fondation WOSTEP watchmaking certificated programs.

Cancellation
Please note, that if you cancel your participation less than 30 days before the beginning of the program, the fees will not be reimbursed.
