Official Announcement — Appointment of the Director of the WOSTEP Foundation

The WOSTEP Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Director, Cédric Bassin, who will officially assume his duties on June 1st, 2026.

His professional journey began at the Swatch Group, where he took his first steps into the working world as a development engineer for EM Microelectronic, quickly discovering the importance of teamwork and pushing himself to new heights. 

Passionate about innovation, he seizes opportunities in diverse fields such as the start-up world and education, which allowed him to broaden his horizons and refine his expertise, particularly by moving to Silicon Valley.

He was fortunate to climb the ranks, progressing from engineer to general manager

of a training centre with over 2,000 students, all while tackling exciting and challenging projects. His natural curiosity has driven him to explore ambitious projects, collaborate with inspiring people, and share memorable moments.

His career path has also allowed him to earn academic degrees such as a Doctor of Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) as well as a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Management from the University of Geneva, which symbolize his commitment and his desire to go further.

His arrival marks an important new chapter in the development of our institution, as we continue to pursue our mission: ensuring excellence in watchmaking training and supporting professionals around the world.
